How to measure correctly

Chest Lay the jacket flat with the zipper closed and measure straight across the front, from one armhole seam to the other. This will give you the true measurement of the chest width.

Hem Measure around the widest part of your hips to see if the bottom edge of the jacket fits comfortably there. If you prefer to measure the jacket directly, lay a measuring tape flat across the hem and double the result.

Shoulder width Measure across the back, from the outer edge of one shoulder seam to the other. This measurement determines how the jacket sits across the shoulders.

Sleeve length Measure from the top of the shoulder seam down to the end of the sleeve at the cuff. If you already have a jacket that fits well, you can use it as a reference.

Length Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, right by the neck, straight down to the bottom edge of the jacket. This gives you the total length of the jacket.
